BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost uses the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from putting in a new key or even replacing the ECU to bypass your security system as it requires a valid PIN code to start the engine.
Like other immobilisers, unlike other immobilisers, the Ghost does not use LED indicators or key fobs. Instead, it uses your vehicle's existing buttons to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that you only are aware of.
Stop & Start
If you have ever driven a new BMW or used the stop start feature, then you might have noticed that after stopping the engine will continue to run for about 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system constantly monitoring your vehicle for a signal from the ignition key, and when this signal is detected, it will continue to run. Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a revolutionary next-generation device that doesn't require cutting OEM wires or adding an aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with a unique PIN code that can be accessible via buttons in your car. This allows you to enter the key sequences which aren't available in the normal media menus. For instance volume up/down, source cruise control, air conditioning, etc. The PIN is between 4 and 20 characters, making it very difficult for thieves to figure out.
We can also add the service/valet mode. This is activated while your vehicle is being maintained so that the Ghost is kept from view by the garage. This can be achieved by pressing the service button on your infotainment device 5 times (the system will flash to confirm this) and when you return the Ghost will re-arm automatically.

Service / Valet Mode

If you're at home and in the event of a meet and greet when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be put into service mode, which allows you to start the vehicle using your keys as normal however it stops the engine from being started until the correct code is entered. This is ideal for customers who need to hand their cars to valet businesses or other trusted friends & family members. This lets you bring your vehicle to the garage for servicing or repairs, or other maintenance. without having to worry about it being altered by mechanics while you wait.
Once the valet or service mode is activated it will stop your BMW from being able to be driven when it is first started. This stops anyone from test driving while you are away. When you return, it will be back to normal driving, stopping your car from being damaged or stolen once again.
We can mount the Ghost to any BMW, all you need is the correct keys as the device does not use the original remotes, and can be used in conjunction with them. If you don't want to use a mobile device or aren't comfortable with it, we offer an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to turn off the Ghost. This is an extra cost and requires a new Bluetooth pairing.
Anti-Hijack
With hi-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated, the technology in security systems has to improve, which is why Ghost has created this discrete and discreet immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from using an ignition key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive it off. Ghost connects to your CAN network and utilizes buttons on your vehicle to generate an individual push-sequence that has to be entered before the engine can begin.
Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt ghost 2 immobiliser cost to restart the engine will be blocked. The system will honk the horn, flash the indicators and stop the vehicle in the event that the code cannot be found. By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can cancel the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to be temporarily started without having to enter PIN.
If you own a GPS device that is connected to your BMW it is possible to use it to disable the Anti-Hijack function to allow you to use your navigation system when the vehicle is in a parking spot. Remote Control
We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile application for remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is useful when you are else and a mechanic or valet needs to start your car. The system will allow you to turn the car on, select drive and leave service mode without having your key fobs. You can also track your vehicle's location on the map in real-time using your smartphone.
The Ghost can be placed under the dashboard or in the center console. It is completely secure and untouchable and does not require any additional wiring. The device is connected to the CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personalised pin code is programmed into it. This pin code has to be entered prior to the engine starting. This prevents thieves from bypassing the system using a cloned or replaced ECU.
If the vehicle is stolen, the Ghost will enter a service mode and disables all functions until the PIN code is entered, or you use the mobile app to disable it. This is a feature that was designed to protect your vehicle from high-tech thieves who are using relay boxes to steal your car. It also stops thieves from using their mobile phones to activate your sat-nav or MP3 player to locate your car!
Ghost can also stop "Relay Style Frequency Amplification". This is the most popular method of stealing a car using a keyfob that's copied, or stolen by hacking. Ghost can help you prevent this theft by installing a device called Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device installs inside the key-fob of your vehicle and then disconnects the battery after a couple of minutes of inactivity. This can be done on the majority of modern PKE key-fobs.
